  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 pieces Burger buns (sesame or brioche)
  • 4 pieces Lettuce leaves
  • 8 slices Tomato slices
  • 4 slices Red onion slices
  • 8 slices Pickle slices
  • 0.25 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (for toasting buns)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. While the grill heats, prepare the secret burger sauce by mixing the mayonnaise, ketchup, and yellow mustard in a small bowl. Set aside.
