Ingredients

  • 226 grams unsalted butter, softened
  • 150 grams granulated sugar
  • 150 grams light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 pieces large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 350 grams all-purpose flour
  • 30 grams rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 340 grams semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.

Step 4

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, rolled oats, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, if using, until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Step 7

Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough for each cookie and roll into a ball. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

Gently press each dough ball slightly to flatten it. This will help ensure even baking.

Step 9

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look set but still soft.

Step 10

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 11

Serve warm or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Enjoy your homemade Doubletree Hotel-style cookies!
