Ingredients

  • 120 grams unsalted butter
  • 150 grams granulated sugar
  • 100 grams brown sugar, packed
  • 2 pieces large eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 125 grams all-purpose flour
  • 35 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 180 grams semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 100 grams milk chocolate chunks

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) square baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly with butter.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

Step 6

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, folding gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 7

Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chunks, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 8

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 10

Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Step 11

Once cooled, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut them into 12 equal pieces.

Step 12

Serve and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
