Ingredients

  • 1 cup Oat flour
  • 0.5 cup Almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Unsweetened applesauce
  • 3 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil, melted
  • 0.25 cup Dark chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin tin or donut hole pan with a little coconut oil or non-stick spray.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together oat flour, almond flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Step 3

In a separate medium-sized bowl, whisk together the applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, egg, and melted coconut oil until smooth.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 5

Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips to distribute them evenly in the batter.

Step 6

Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, portion the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cavity about three-quarters full.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the donut balls are lightly golden on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 8

Allow the donut balls to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 9

Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, you can refrigerate them for up to a week or freeze for up to a month.
