Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 pound ground pork
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic.

Step 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Pour this mixture into the meat mixture.

Step 3

Add the chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix everything together gently with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatballs tough.

Step 4

Using your hands or a small scoop, form the meat mixture into evenly sized balls (about 1.5 inches in diameter). Place the meatballs on a plate or baking sheet.

Step 5

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 6

Cook the meatballs for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 7

Transfer the cooked meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite marinara sauce over pasta, in a sandwich, or alone with a sprinkling of fresh parsley and grated cheese on top.
