Ingredients

  • 14 pieces Manicotti shells
  • 16 ounces Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 piece Large egg
  • 1 cup Fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 4 cups Marinara sauce
  • 0.5 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped spinach, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.

Step 3

Transfer the ricotta mixture to a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag. Cut off one corner of the bag to create a piping bag.

Step 4

Fill each uncooked manicotti shell by piping the cheese mixture into both ends until fully stuffed. Set aside.

Step 5

In a medium mixing bowl, combine marinara sauce and water. Mix well to create a slightly thinner sauce.

Step 6

Spread 1 cup of the marinara sauce mixture evenly on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 7

Arrange the filled manicotti shells in a single layer on top of the sauce in the baking dish.

Step 8

Pour the remaining marinara sauce mixture over the manicotti, ensuring all shells are completely covered in sauce.

Step 9

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil to keep in the moisture and prevent the pasta from drying out.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

Step 11

Remove the foil and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of the dish. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 12

Remove from the oven and let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Step 13

Serve hot and enjoy!
