Ingredients

  • 8 cups Day-old bread (French bread or brioche)
  • 3 cups Whole milk
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups White chocolate (chopped or chips)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter (for greasing)
  • 1 cup White chocolate (for sauce)
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream (for sauce)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with the unsalted butter and set it aside.

Step 2

Cut the day-old bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3

In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk and 1 cup of heavy cream. Heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling (about 3-4 minutes).

Step 4

Stir in 1.5 cups of chopped white chocolate into the warm milk mixture. Whisk until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

Step 5

In a separate large bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and slightly frothy.

Step 6

Gradually pour the white chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly to temper the eggs and avoid curdling.

Step 7

Pour the mixture over the bread cubes in the mixing bowl. Gently stir to ensure all the bread cubes are evenly soaked. Let sit for 10 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the custard.

Step 8

Transfer the soaked bread mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

Step 10

While the bread pudding bakes, make the white chocolate sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup of white chocolate and 0.5 cup of heavy cream. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 11

Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly for 10 minutes.

Step 12

Serve warm bread pudding with a generous drizzle of white chocolate sauce. Enjoy!
