Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened peanut butter
  • 0.5 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and rolled oats. Mix until well incorporated.

Step 3

Add the peanut butter, pumpkin puree, egg, and water to the bowl. Stir the ingredients together until a thick, sticky dough forms.

Step 4

Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness using a rolling pin.

Step 5

Use a cookie cutter (bone-shaped for extra fun!) to cut out treats and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 6

Re-roll the leftover dough and cut out more treats until all the dough is used.

Step 7

Bake the treats in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until they are firm and slightly golden.

Step 8

Allow the treats to cool completely on a wire rack before serving them to your dog.

Step 9

Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
