Ingredients

  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 tablespoons Water
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 White bread slices
  • 3 slices Sliced Swiss cheese
  • 3 slices Sliced ham
  • 3 slices Sliced turkey
  • 5 cups Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Raspberry preserves

Directions

Step 1

Whisk together the eggs and water in a medium-sized bowl until smooth.

Step 2

In a separate large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

Gradually add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms. Set aside.

Step 4

Lay out 3 slices of bread. On each slice, layer 1 slice of Swiss cheese, 1 slice of ham, and 1 slice of turkey.

Step 5

Top each sandwich with the remaining 3 slices of bread to create 3 full sandwiches.

Step 6

Carefully cut each sandwich diagonally to create 6 triangular halves.

Step 7

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Ensure the oil is deep enough to fully submerge the sandwich halves.

Step 8

Dip each sandwich half into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated on all sides.

Step 9

Carefully place the battered sandwich halves into the hot oil, frying two or three at a time. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

Step 10

Remove the sandwiches from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 11

Dust the sandwiches with powdered sugar.

Step 12

Serve hot with a side of raspberry preserves for dipping.
