Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef
  • 0.5 pounds Ground pork
  • 1 cups Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cups Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cups Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.5 cups Ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoons Dijon mustard (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to absorb.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, soaked breadcrumbs, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Mix the ingredients gently with your hands or a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 5

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan, shaping it into a firm loaf about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide.

Step 6

In a separate small bowl, make the glaze by whisking together the ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard.

Step 7

Spread half of the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf with a spoon or brush.

Step 8

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove from the oven and spread the remaining glaze on top.

Step 9

Return the meatloaf to the oven and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C) on a meat thermometer.

Step 10

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute, keeping the meatloaf moist.

Step 11

Slice and serve warm. Pair it with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a fresh salad for a complete meal!
