Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ribeye steak, thinly sliced
  • 4 Hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices Provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1 Yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1

Place the thinly sliced ribeye steak in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Toss to coat and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers (if using) and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until caramelized. Add garlic during the last minute of cooking. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, heat another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the seasoned steak slices in batches, cooking for 2-3 minutes per batch until browned. Remove from heat and combine with the onion and pepper mixture.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard and mayonnaise to create the mustard sauce.

Step 5

Preheat the broiler on your oven. Split the hoagie rolls lengthwise and spread a thin layer of butter on the cut sides. Toast under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Step 6

Spread the Dijon-mayo sauce on the toasted buns. Layer slices of provolone cheese on the bottom half of each roll.

Step 7

Spoon the steak and onion mixture over the provolone cheese while it is still hot, allowing the cheese to melt. Add an extra slice of provolone on top if desired.

Step 8

Close the hoagies and serve immediately. Enjoy your Dijon Cheesesteak Hoagies while warm!
