Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, chopped
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 6 Crusty sandwich rolls
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter
  • 6 Lettuce leaves
  • 2 medium Tomato, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Hot sauce (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, Dijon mustard, parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3

Using clean hands or a spatula, gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the mixture.

Step 4

Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet or use a loaf pan for a more uniform shape.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (70°C).

Step 6

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing into 1/2-inch thick slices.

Step 7

While the meatloaf rests, lightly butter the crusty sandwich rolls and toast them in a skillet or under a broiler until golden and crisp.

Step 8

Mix the mayonnaise with hot sauce (if using) in a small bowl to create a spicy mayo spread.

Step 9

Assemble the sandwiches by spreading the mayo on the bottom half of each roll, adding a slice of meatloaf, followed by lettuce and tomato slices.

Step 10

Place the top half of the roll on the sandwich, press lightly, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
