Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey (lean, 93% or higher)
  • 0.25 cup Oat bran
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Dried parsley
  • 1 tbsp Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.5 tsp Freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Salt (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (optional, for cooking)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, oat bran, and egg.

Step 2

Add the garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, low-sodium soy sauce, black pepper, and salt (if using). Mix thoroughly using clean hands or a spatula until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty approximately 1/2 inch thick.

Step 4

Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. If desired, lightly coat the skillet with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Place the patties in the heated skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, or until golden brown.

Step 6

Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) using a meat thermometer.

Step 7

Remove the patties from the skillet and allow them to rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Step 8

Serve the turkey patties on a bed of mixed greens, roasted vegetables, or enjoy them as a protein-packed burger without the bun.
