Ingredients

  • 6 pieces Large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon White vinegar
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Paprika
  • 0.25 piece Carrot
  • 2 pieces Black olives

Directions

Step 1

Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them completely with cool water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let them simmer for 10 minutes.

Step 2

After cooking, transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water and let them cool for 5-10 minutes. Peel the shells off the eggs carefully to prevent damage.

Step 3

Cut a small slice off the bottom of each egg so they can stand upright, then cut the top third off each egg to form a 'cap'. Set the caps aside and gently remove the yolks from the larger bottom portions of the eggs.

Step 4

Place the yolks into a mixing bowl and mash them with a fork until smooth.

Step 5

Add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, white vinegar, salt, black pepper, and paprika to the mashed yolks. Mix until well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary.

Step 6

Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the hollowed-out egg whites, creating a slightly rounded mound to form the 'body' of the chick.

Step 7

Cut small triangles from the carrot to create beaks, and slice the black olives into tiny pieces to make eyes.

Step 8

Gently press the carrot 'beaks' and olive 'eyes' into the yolk mixture on each egg to give them faces.

Step 9

Place the 'caps' (top thirds of the eggs) back on top at an angle, resembling hats for the chicks.

Step 10

Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy these delightful Deviled Egg Chicks at your next gathering!
