Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chunks

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 2 to 3 minutes).

Step 4

Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three additions, mixing on low speed after each addition until no streaks of flour remain.

Step 6

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and dark chocolate chunks using a spatula.

Step 7

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cookies are set around the edges but still soft in the center.

Step 9

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Serve with a glass of milk or enjoy as is, and store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
