Ingredients

  • 4 cups Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup Devil's food cake mix
  • 2 cups Mini marshmallows
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 cup Sprinkles (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease it with nonstick spray or butter. Set it aside.

Step 2

In a large saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the Devil's food cake mix, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Step 4

Remove the saucepan from heat. Quickly add the Cheerios cereal and stir gently but thoroughly until the cereal is evenly coated in the marshmallow mixture.

Step 5

Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, being careful to distribute them evenly without overmixing (so the chocolate chips don't melt completely).

Step 6

Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press it evenly into the pan using a greased spatula or the back of a spoon.

Step 7

If using, sprinkle the top with colorful sprinkles and press them gently into the mixture to adhere.

Step 8

Allow the mixture to cool and set at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Once firm, lift the entire block out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut it into 12 bars or squares.

Step 9

Serve and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
