  • 4 pieces chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 cups baby spinach (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and paprika on both sides.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Sprinkle the flour over the garlic and butter mixture, and whisk continuously for about 30 seconds to create a roux.
