  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 4 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the artichokes by trimming the stems, removing tough outer leaves, and cutting off the top third of the artichoke. Use a spoon to remove the fuzzy choke from the center. Slice each artichoke in half or quarters, depending on size.

Step 2

Fill a large bowl with cold water and squeeze the juice of one lemon into the water. Place the prepared artichoke pieces into the lemon water to prevent browning while you work.

In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
