Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole lemon wedges, for serving

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat until the butter is melted and bubbling.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

Step 4

Sprinkle the paprika and red pepper flakes into the skillet, stirring to combine with the garlic and oil.

Step 5

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and black pepper.

Step 6

Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

Step 7

Lower the heat slightly and stir in the lemon juice and the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter until the butter is melted and a light sauce forms.

Step 8

Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the fresh parsley over the shrimp.

Step 9

Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the shrimp. This dish pairs well with crusty bread, rice, or pasta.
