  • 200 grams all-purpose flour
  • 200 grams granulated sugar

  • 240 ml boiling water
  • 300 grams sour cherry filling (or tart cherry jam)
  • 480 ml heavy whipping cream
  • 50 grams powdered sugar
  • 100 grams dark chocolate shavings
  • 12 pieces maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line two 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pans with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth and fully incorporated.
