Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 2 pieces large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for browning, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands or a spoon to mix until well combined but do not overmix.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs, approximately the size of a golf ball. Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.

Step 4

To optionally brown the meatballs for extra flavor, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Then transfer them to the baking sheet.

Step 5

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Step 6

Allow the meatballs to cool completely if freezing for later use. Place them in an airtight container or freezer bag, separating layers with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Step 7

When ready to serve, reheat the meatballs in a sauce of your choice, in the microwave, or in the oven until warmed through.
