Ingredients

  • 1 piece Bagel
  • 2 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 strips Cooked bacon
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Hot sauce (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Fresh spinach leaves

Directions

Step 1

Slice the bagel in half and toast it lightly in a toaster or on a skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

While the bagel is toasting, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1/2 tablespoon of butter.

Step 3

Crack the egg into the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until the whites are set and the yolk is still slightly runny (or cook until desired doneness). Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add another 1/2 tablespoon of butter. Place the slices of cheddar cheese on the inside of both bagel halves and place them cheese-side down in the skillet. Cover and let the cheese melt slightly, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Step 5

Spread mayonnaise evenly onto one or both halves of the bagel. If using, drizzle hot sauce over the mayonnaise for a bit of heat.

Step 6

Layer the cooked egg, bacon strips, and fresh spinach leaves on the bottom half of the bagel.

Step 7

Top with the other half of the bagel to create a sandwich. Serve immediately and enjoy the cheesy, savory deliciousness!
