Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 24 ounces Marinara or pasta sauce
  • 15 ounces Ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 unit Large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 9 sheets Lasagna noodles (uncooked, no-boil)
  • 1 as needed Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, Italian sausage, chopped onion, and minced garlic until the meat is browned and the onion is softened. Drain excess grease.

Step 2

Stir in the marinara or pasta sauce with the meat mixture. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

Step 3

In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 2 cups of shredded mozzarella, 3/4 cup of shredded parmesan, the egg, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 4

Spray the inside of a slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 5

Spread 1 cup of the meat sauce along the bottom of the slow cooker.

Step 6

Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, breaking them as needed to fit. Spread 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by 1 cup of the meat sauce.

Step 7

Repeat the layers (noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce) two more times, ending with a layer of the meat sauce on top.

Step 8

Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese over the top.

Step 9

Cover the slow cooker with its lid, and cook on low for 4 hours or until the noodles are tender.

Step 10

Turn off the slow cooker and let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
