Ingredients

  • 4 pounds Pork spareribs
  • 1 cup Dale's Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Remove the membrane from the back of the spareribs for a more tender result. Rinse the ribs under cool water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 2

In a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish, combine Dale's Seasoning, honey, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, ground black pepper, smoked paprika, and lemon juice.

Step 3

Place the spareribs in the marinade and ensure they are fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to infuse.

Step 4

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil, and place a wire rack on top if you have one.

Step 5

Remove the spareribs from the marinade, letting the excess marinade drip off. Reserve the marinade for later use.

Step 6

Place the spareribs on the wire rack (or directly on the foil-lined sheet if no rack is available), meat side up. Cover the ribs tightly with another sheet of aluminum foil to keep the moisture in.

Step 7

Bake the spareribs in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours. Check occasionally to ensure they are cooking evenly.

Step 8

Meanwhile, place the reserved marinade in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes to ensure it is safe to use as a basting sauce.

Step 9

After 2.5 hours, remove the spareribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C).

Step 10

Brush the spareribs generously with the cooked marinade and return them to the oven uncovered for 15-20 minutes, or until they have a caramelized and sticky glaze.

Step 11

Remove the spareribs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans.
