Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 4 whole wheat wraps
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 fresh lime

Directions

Step 1

Start by thinly slicing the beef sirloin steak across the grain and place it in a bowl.

Step 2

Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ground black pepper to the beef. Mix well to coat the beef and let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.

Step 3

While the beef is marinating, slice the onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and carrot into thin strips.

Step 4

Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 5

Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 6

In the same skillet, add the sliced onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and carrot. Sauté for about 5-6 minutes or until the vegetables are just tender.

Step 7

Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables.

Step 8

Stir in the hoisin sauce and rice vinegar, and toss everything together until the beef and vegetables are well-coated and heated through.

Step 9

Warm the whole wheat wraps either in a microwave or on a skillet for about 30 seconds each to make them pliable.

Step 10

Assemble the wraps by placing a generous portion of the beef and vegetable mixture onto each wrap, sprinkle with fresh cilantro, and squeeze a little fresh lime juice over the top.

Step 11

Roll up each wrap tightly, tucking in the sides as you go, and serve immediately.
