Ingredients

  • 500 grams Rigatoni pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 large Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 800 grams Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.

Step 2

While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, or until the onion is soft and translucent.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until it is browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

Step 6

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 7

Drain the rigatoni and return it to the pot. Pour the meat sauce over the pasta and toss until well combined.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Serve hot and enjoy your dairy-free rigatoni with meat sauce.
