Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup dairy-free chocolate protein powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup dairy-free chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch (20x20 cm) baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it with a non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, chocolate protein powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix together the almond milk, maple syrup, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 5

Fold in the dairy-free chocolate chips until evenly distributed within the batter.

Step 6

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly using a spatula.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs but not wet batter.

Step 8

Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the baking dish for at least 15 minutes.

Step 9

After cooling, lift the brownies out of the dish using the parchment paper and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Step 10

Cut into 12 squares and serve. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
