Ingredients

  • 500 grams Puff pastry (dairy-free)
  • 400 grams Ground pork
  • 1 small Onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley
  • 50 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion and garlic cloves. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic for 3-5 minutes, or until translucent. Remove from heat and cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, sautéed onion and garlic, chopped parsley, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

Step 4

Roll out the dairy-free puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to form a large rectangle, about 3mm thick.

Step 5

Divide the sausage mixture into two even portions. Shape each portion into a log and place it along the long edge of the pastry rectangle.

Step 6

Carefully roll the pastry over the sausage mixture to enclose it, making sure to seal the edges by pressing gently. Repeat with the second portion.

Step 7

Cut each log into individual sausage rolls, about 4-5cm long.

Step 8

Place the sausage rolls on the prepared baking tray. Beat the egg and use a brush to apply an egg wash over the rolls for a golden finish (optional for those who avoid eggs; can skip this step).

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden, and the sausage filling is cooked through.

Step 10

Allow to cool slightly before serving and enjoy your dairy-free party sausage rolls!
