Ingredients

  • 1 cup Raw almonds
  • 1 cup Raw hazelnuts
  • 1 cup Pitted dates
  • 0.25 cup Maple syrup
  • 0.5 cup Coconut oil, melted
  • 0.75 cup Unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Dairy-free dark chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving extra paper hanging over the edges for easy removal.

Step 2

In a food processor, add the raw almonds and hazelnuts. Process until the nuts are finely ground into a meal-like consistency.

Step 3

Add the pitted dates, maple syrup, 1/4 cup of coconut oil, and salt to the ground nuts. Process until the mixture is sticky and holds together when pressed.

Press the nut mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish to form the base layer.

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the remaining 1/4 cup of coconut oil. Stir in the cacao powder, vanilla extract, and stir until smooth and combined.
