  • 1 tsp salt
  • 125 g vegan margarine
  • 4 tbsp cold water
  • 150 g ground hazelnuts
  • 80 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 tbsp plant-based milk
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tbsp vegan milk alternative for brushing

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, fine sugar, and salt.

Add the vegan margarine to the flour mixture. Using your fingers or a pastry cutter, incorporate the margarine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing gently until the dough begins to hold together. Avoid over-mixing.

Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
