Ingredients

  • 500 grams dairy-free puff pastry
  • 400 grams ground pork
  • 50 grams dairy-free breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons dairy-free milk
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Finely chop the small onion and mince the garlic clove. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, dairy-free breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, dried thyme, dried sage, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Step 3

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dairy-free puff pastry into a rectangle approximately 30 cm x 40 cm. Cut the pastry into two long strips.

Step 4

Divide the sausage mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a long sausage, placing one along each strip of pastry.

Step 5

Brush one edge of each pastry strip with a little dairy-free milk to help seal. Roll the pastry around the meat, pressing gently to seal the edge.

Step 6

Slice each roll into 12 equal pieces for a total of 24 mini sausage rolls.

Step 7

Beat the egg and brush the tops of the rolls with it. This will give them a lovely golden color when baked.

Step 8

Place the mini sausage rolls onto the prepared baking tray. Ensure they are evenly spaced apart to allow for even cooking.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage meat is cooked through.

Allow the sausage rolls to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving. They can be enjoyed hot or at room temperature.
