Ingredients

  • 1 medium fresh ripe mango
  • 2 bags black tea bags
  • 500 ml water
  • 250 ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 6 cubes ice cubes
  • 100 grams tapioca pearls (optional)
  • 500 ml water for boiling tapioca pearls (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Begin by preparing the black tea. Bring 500ml of water to a boil, then remove it from the heat. Add the 2 black tea bags and let them steep for 5 minutes. Once done, remove the tea bags and set the tea aside to cool.

Step 2

While the tea is cooling, peel the mango, remove the pit, and chop the flesh into small pieces. Place the mango pieces in a blender.

Step 3

Add 250ml of unsweetened almond milk and 2 tablespoons of agave nectar to the blender with the mango. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Step 4

If using, prepare the tapioca pearls according to the package instructions. Typically, this involves boiling 100 grams of tapioca pearls in 500ml of water for approximately 5-10 minutes until they are fully cooked and soft. Drain and rinse under cold water.

Step 5

In a separate container, combine the cooled black tea with the mango and almond milk mixture. Mix well to ensure even consistency.

Step 6

To serve, add a layer of tapioca pearls to the bottom of two glasses, if using. Fill each glass with ice cubes (about 3 per glass) and pour the mango milk tea mixture on top.
