Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground lamb
  • 0.5 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large eggs
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon dairy-free mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon dairy-free ketchup

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, finely chopped red onion, minced garlic, chopped mint leaves, chopped parsley, ground cumin, ground coriander, sea salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Beat one large egg in a separate bowl and add it to the lamb mixture. Mix everything together gently until fully combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into patties about 1 inch thick.

Step 4

Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the lamb patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (internal temperature should reach at least 160°F/71°C for medium).

Step 5

While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on a grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Step 6

To assemble the burgers, spread a layer of dairy-free mayonnaise and ketchup on the bottom half of each bun.

Step 7

Place a cooked lamb patty on top, followed by a lettuce leaf, and a slice of tomato.

Step 8

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
