Ingredients

  • 200 g Tapioca flour
  • 50 g All-purpose flour
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper, ground
  • 2 stalks Scallions, finely chopped
  • 300 ml Water
  • 4 tablespoons Peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons Chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 120 ml Coconut milk, light
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped peanuts, for garnish

Directions

Step 1

In a bowl, combine tapioca flour, all-purpose flour, minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Step 2

Gradually add the water into the flour mixture while stirring continuously to form a smooth dough.

Step 3

Stir in the chopped scallions to evenly distribute throughout the dough.

Step 4

Bring a large pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 5

While waiting for the water to boil, lightly dust your hands with a bit of tapioca flour and shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.

Step 6

Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium and carefully drop the dough balls into the pot.

Step 7

Boil the cilok for approximately 20 minutes or until they float to the surface and are cooked through.

Step 8

Meanwhile, prepare the peanut sauce. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine peanut butter, chili sauce, lime juice, and coconut milk. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and heated through.

Step 9

Drain the cooked cilok and serve with the warm peanut sauce drizzled over them.

Step 10

Garnish with chopped peanuts before serving.
