Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 0.5 pound ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork and ground turkey. Mix together using your hands or a sturdy spatula until well combined.

Step 2

Add the maple syrup and olive oil to the meat mixture. Mix until the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

Step 3

Add sage, thyme, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the meat mixture. Mix thoroughly until all spices are well incorporated.

Step 4

Form the mixture into small, round patties, approximately 2-3 inches in diameter. You should get about 8-10 patties from this mixture.

Step 5

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the sausage patties in a single layer. You may need to cook them in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

Step 6

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and cooked through with no pink remaining in the center.

Step 7

Remove the patties from the skillet and drain on paper towels to remove any excess grease.

Step 8

Serve warm with your choice of breakfast sides or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
