Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 cup Warm water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 medium, chopped Onion
  • 2 cloves, minced Garlic
  • 1 medium, chopped Bell pepper
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup, sliced Black olives
  • 1/2 cup, halved Cherry tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons Nutritional yeast

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, active dry yeast, sugar, and salt.

Step 2

Add warm water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 5

While the dough is rising, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Step 6

Add ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Step 7

Stir in the chopped bell pepper, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, and crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside.

Step 8

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat.

Step 9

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a lightly floured surface.

Step 10

Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle, forming a slight edge for the crust.

Step 11

Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or lightly floured baking sheet.

Step 12

Spread the beef and sauce mixture evenly over the crust.

Step 13

Top with sliced black olives, halved cherry tomatoes, and sprinkle with nutritional yeast for a cheesy flavor.

Step 14

If using a pizza stone, carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated stone. If not, place your baking sheet into the oven.

Step 15

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Step 16

Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
