Ingredients

  • 500 grams boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (such as canola or vegetable oil)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, whisk together the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined.

Step 2

Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and mix until the chicken is thoroughly coated with the marinade. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator for extra flavor.

Step 3

Heat the neutral oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken to the skillet. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked and caramelized. The internal temperature should reach 75°C (165°F).

Step 5

Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes on a cutting board.

Step 6

Slice the chicken into strips and arrange them on a serving plate.

Step 7

Garnish the chicken with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Step 8

Serve hot with steamed rice or your favorite side dish.
