In a large mixing bowl, dissolve 2.25 teaspoons of active dry yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in 1.25 cups of warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1.5 teaspoons of salt to the bowl. Mix well using a wooden spoon or dough hook if using a stand mixer.
