Ingredients

  • 500 g Ground beef
  • 250 g Ground pork
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove, minced
  • 100 g Bread crumbs
  • 60 ml Almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread crumbs and almond milk. Let it sit for a few minutes until the bread crumbs have absorbed the milk.

Step 2

Add the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, and Dijon mustard to the soaked bread crumbs.

Step 3

Using clean hands, mix the ingredients until well combined but do not overmix.

Step 4

Shape the mixture into palm-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.

Step 5

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

Step 6

Once the oil is hot, add the frikadelle patties to the skillet, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 7

Cook the patties for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 8

Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Step 9

Serve hot with your choice of side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, salad, or steamed vegetables.
