Ingredients

  • 25 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 200 grams Firm tofu
  • 1 medium Carrot
  • 100 grams Green cabbage
  • 2 stalks Green onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 200 milliliters Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

Press the tofu to remove excess water by wrapping it in a clean towel and placing a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes.

Step 2

Finely chop the carrot, cabbage, and green onion. Mince the garlic cloves.

Step 3

Crumble the pressed tofu into small pieces in a mixing bowl.

Step 4

Add the carrot, cabbage, green onion, and garlic to the tofu. Mix in the soy sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, salt, and black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.

Step 5

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Scoop about 1 teaspoon of filling into the center of the wrapper.

Step 6

Lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger.

Step 7

Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle and press the edges to seal, ensuring there are no air bubbles. Optionally, bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and press to seal for a more decorative shape.

Step 8

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.

Step 9

Carefully add a few wontons to the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the skillet.

Step 10

Fry each wonton for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Adjust the heat as necessary to avoid burning.

Step 11

Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 12

Repeat the frying process with the remaining wontons.

Step 13

Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as sweet chili or soy sauce.
