Ingredients

  • 500 g Cremini or button mushrooms
  • 120 g All-purpose flour
  • 60 g Cornstarch
  • 5 g Baking powder
  • 5 g Garlic powder
  • 5 g Onion powder
  • 5 g Paprika
  • 5 g Salt
  • 2 g Black pepper
  • 240 ml Unsweetened almond milk
  • 10 ml Apple cider vinegar
  • 150 g Panko breadcrumbs
  • 500 ml Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth or rinsing them quickly under cold water and patting dry. Remove the stems if desired.

In a small bowl, combine the unsweetened almond milk and apple cider vinegar. Stir well and set aside for 5 minutes to create a non-dairy 'buttermilk'.
