Ingredients

  • 800 ml Coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon Agar-agar powder
  • 4 capsules Probiotic capsules
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup
  • 4 medium Apples
  • 120 ml Water
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1

To make the dairy-free yogurt, start by pouring 800 ml of coconut milk into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Step 2

Once simmering, add 1 teaspoon of agar-agar powder to the coconut milk, stirring constantly to avoid clumping. Allow it to dissolve completely.

Step 3

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool down to about 43°C (110°F).

Step 4

Open 4 probiotic capsules and stir the powder into the cooled coconut mixture along with 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Mix well.

Step 5

Pour the mixture into sterilized jars or a glass container, cover with a clean cloth, and let it ferment in a warm place for 12-24 hours or until tangy and set.

Step 6

For the homemade applesauce, peel and core 4 medium apples, and chop them into small pieces.

Step 7

Place the chopped apples in a saucepan with 120 ml of water and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Step 8

Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples become soft and start to break down, approximately 20 minutes.

Step 9

Remove from heat and mash the apples to your desired consistency. Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Step 10

Allow both the yogurt and applesauce to cool completely. Serve the creamy dairy-free yogurt topped with a generous spoonful of homemade applesauce.
