Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 mix)
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt

  • 4 pieces Burger buns (dairy-free)
  • 4 tbsp Vegan mayonnaise
  • 4 tbsp Ketchup
  • 12 slices Pickle slices
  • 1 large Tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 2 tbsp Neutral oil (like vegetable or canola)

Directions

Step 1

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, but do not pack the meat tightly.

Step 2

Heat a large cast iron skillet or griddle pan over medium-high heat. Once the skillet is hot, add 1 tablespoon of oil.

Step 3

Place 1 or 2 beef balls in the skillet, depending on the size of your skillet and allow space for smashing.

Using a metal spatula or a burger press, smash the meat balls down into patties, about 1/4 inch thick.
