Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a small bowl, combine the flaxseed meal and water. Stir well and let sit for about 5 minutes to thicken. This will act as a flax egg.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
Add the solid coconut oil and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix the coconut oil into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the thickened flaxseed mixture and almond extract to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
Press the dough evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch (23 cm) tart pan. Prick the base with a fork to prevent bubbling.
