Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cocoa powder
  • 0.5 cup Coconut oil
  • 0.25 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Almond butter
  • 0.125 teaspoon Sea salt

Directions

Step 1

Prepare a muffin tin with 12 silicone or paper liners. This will make it easier to remove the chocolate cups once they are set.

Step 2

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the coconut oil gently. Once the coconut oil is fully melted, turn off the heat.

Step 3

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the melted coconut oil with cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir until you have a smooth, glossy chocolate mixture.

Step 4

Spoon roughly 1 tablespoon of the chocolate mixture into each muffin liner, just enough to cover the bottom.

Step 5

Place the muffin tin in the freezer for about 5 minutes, until the chocolate base starts to firm up.

Step 6

Remove the muffin tin from the freezer. Add about 1 teaspoon of almond butter on top of each chocolate layer in the liners.

Step 7

Cover the almond butter with another tablespoon of the chocolate mixture, ensuring the almond butter is completely covered.

Step 8

Sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top of each chocolate cup if desired.

Step 9

Return the muffin tin to the freezer for about 20 minutes, or until the chocolate cups are completely set and firm.

Step 10

Once set, remove the chocolate cups from the liners. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
