Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 0.5 cup Coconut milk
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (for cooking)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Stir well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.

Step 2

Make a well in the center and gradually add the warm water and coconut milk. Gently mix in the olive oil and garlic powder.

Step 3

Using your hands, mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough in the bowl, then transfer it to a lightly floured surface and continue kneading for about 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Lightly oil the mixing bowl, place the dough into it, and cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 5

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten slightly.

Step 6

Using a rolling pin, roll each dough ball into an oval or round shape, approximately 6-8 inches in diameter.

Step 7

Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush with a little olive oil.

Step 8

Cook each naan for 2-3 minutes on one side, until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes until golden brown. Cover the pan with a lid if you like softer naan.

Step 9

Remove from the skillet and brush with a little more olive oil. Sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the warm naan if desired.

Step 10

Repeat with the remaining dough portions. Serve warm.
