Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the rolled oats under cold water in a fine mesh strainer to remove any dust or impurities.

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed oats, water, and cinnamon stick.

Step 3

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the oats are soft and the mixture has thickened slightly.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from the heat and discard the cinnamon stick. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

Step 6

Transfer the oat mixture to a blender. Add vanilla extract, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of sea salt.

Blend on high speed for about 2-3 minutes, or until the mixture is very smooth.

Place a nut milk bag or a fine mesh strainer lined with cheesecloth over a large bowl or pitcher.
