Ingredients

  • 4 patties plant-based burger patties
  • 8 slices plant-based bacon
  • 1 cup cremini mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 slices dairy-free jack cheese slices
  • 4 units burger buns
  • 4 leaves lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Start by slicing the cremini mushrooms and chopping the onion and garlic cloves finely.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté for about 3 minutes until the onions become translucent.

Step 3

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are golden brown and have released their moisture. Remove the mushroom mixture from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and cook the plant-based bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
