Ingredients

  • 2 racks Pork baby back ribs
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons Smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2

2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. To do this, slide the tip of a knife under the membrane and use a paper towel to grip and pull it away.

Step 3

3. In a small bowl, mix together the dry rub ingredients: brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Step 4

4. Place the ribs on the foil-lined baking sheet, meat-side up. Drizzle olive oil over the ribs and rub it in evenly. Then sprinkle the dry rub generously over both sides of the ribs, pressing it into the meat with your hands.

Step 5

5. Cover the ribs tightly with foil to create a sealed packet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bones.

Step 6

6. While the ribs bake, prepare the glaze by combining the barbecue sauce, honey, and apple cider vinegar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through. Set aside.

Step 7

7. After 2.5 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and carefully discard the foil. Brush the ribs generously with the barbecue glaze.

Step 8

8. Increase the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) or turn on the broiler. Return the glazed ribs to the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and sticky.

Step 9

9. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve warm with extra barbecue sauce on the side, if desired.
