Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 2 units Large eggs
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 units Garlic cloves, minced
  • 0.75 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, 1/4 cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, dried thyme, and parsley.

Step 3

Using clean hands or a large spoon, mix the ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and press it down gently to ensure it is evenly spread and compacted.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ketchup (1/2 cup), brown sugar, and mustard to create the glaze.

Step 6

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 7

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 55–60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) as measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Step 9

Carefully lift the meatloaf out of the pan and transfer it to a serving platter. Slice and serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
